【摘要】:5.1Themeasurementofthestrengthofleatherisoftennecessaryinordertodetermineitssuitabilityforitsintendedapplication.Thistestmethodisrecommendedforuseonlight,softleathers,narrowstrap,welt,laceandroundbeltleathersaswellasothersthatcannotbeaccuratelytestedbyTestMethodD2209.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationofthebreakingstrengthofleatherbythegrabmethod.Itisintendedforuseonlight,softleathers;boarded,sueded,orembossedleatherstestedonaspecimenintheformofarectanglepiece;narrowstrap,welt,lace,androundbeltleathers;orotherleathersthatcannotbeaccuratelytestedbyTestMethodD2209.Thistestmethoddoesnotapplytowetblue.1.2Thetestmethodisnotrecommendedforbreakingloadsover500lbf(2200N)becauseofslippageofthespecimeninthejaws.1.3Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
